Personal Data Protection Policy

This Personal Data Protection Policy governs the manner in which Groove Studio collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (“Users” / “User”) of the https://www.groove.com.sg website (“Site”).

 

PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION

We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, fill out a form, respond to a survey, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site.

Users may visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.

 

TYPES OF PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION THAT WE COLLECT

  • Your personal information e.g. name, date of birth;

  • Your contact information e.g. physical address, email address; phone number;

  • Your payment methods and details e.g. credit card information, including the cardholder’s name, card number, billing address and issue and expiry date. These details are passed over to third party payment website which handles credit card or online payment transactions.

  • Your health information e.g. medical records or fitness profile;

  • Your dance experience and expertise e.g. number of years, expertise levels, amount of training previously received.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

We may collect general information about Users with regard to courses/classes/programs. Such information is collected purely for statistical analysis so that Groove Dance Studio can arrange classes, courses and other related services to Users. Such statistical data is aggregated, and Users’ Personal Data will not be reflected in this category of data. These include:

  • Preferred course/practice/class timings

  • Types of courses/classes/programs

  • Types of instruction preferred, etc.

 

NON-PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilised and other similar information.

 

WEB BROWSER COOKIES

Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance User experience. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

 

HOW WE USE COLLECTED INFORMATION

Groove Studio may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

  • To arrange classes/courses/practices. We need your information to keep track of your attendance in classes/courses/practices that you have booked.

  • To run and operate our Site. We may need your information to display content on the Site correctly.

  • To personalize user experience. We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our Site.

  • To improve our Site. We may use feedback you provide to improve our products and services.

  • To send periodic emails. We may use the email address to respond to inquiries, questions, and/or other requests.

 

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

 

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes provided that you have given us your permission.

 

ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTERS

Users will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc, which Users are provided with the option to opt-out. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes provided that you have given us your permission.

Users may find advertising or other content on our Site that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website’s own terms and policies.

 

COMPLIANCE WITH CHILDREN’S ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our Site from those we know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.

 

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

Groove Studio has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will post a notification on the main page of our Site. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

 

YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS

By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.

Terms & Conditions for Attending Class

Welcome to Groove Studio!

 

By submitting your registration for any program or course or class (including but not limited to any trial class, practice session or audition) conducted by Groove Studio (the “Studio”), you (a.k.a “Student” or “Students”) acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions (“Terms”). The following Terms govern your access to and use of our studio, website, mobile application, and any other services the Studio provides (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

 

Register

1.    Students will only be allowed to attend any program or course or class upon full payment of all applicable fees and are at least 18 years old as at date of birth.

2.    Registration may be opened for programs or course or classes which have already commenced at the sole discretion of the Studio. Fees will be pro-rated accordingly.

3.    Transfers of course or program to another person are allowed with written notice, provision of the details of the person for registration and a payment of $20 administrative fee before the start of the course or program. The Studio reserves the right to accept or reject any request for the transfer and its decision will be final.

 

Withdrawal and No Refund

4.    No refund of any fees will be made for any program, course, class or any scheduled make-up class missed by a student under any circumstances.

5.    No refund of any fees will be made for any withdrawal by a student from any program or course or class under any circumstances.

6.    The Studio reserves the right to assess the circumstances and its decision shall be final.

 

Classes

7.    The Studio reserves the right to modify or terminate a planned class, or replace the instructor, as required or in the absence of an adequate number of students.

8.    The Studio will arrange for a make-up class in the event of a cancellation. The make-up class may be scheduled on a different day and/or at a different time than the originally scheduled class.

9.    In the event happened in the preceding paragraph, class purchases are non-refundable.

10. Class packages must be used within the stated expiration date. For medical reasons supported by certified medical certificate, the classes can be deferred by the duration of the period stated in the medical certificate, subject to a maximum of 6 months from the date of the certificate and with a payment of admin fee of $20 per deferment.

11. Credits for missed or unattended classes shall be valid within the duration of a course, and no longer thereafter. Students are required to write in to the Studio to arrange for make-up class within the same duration of the course.

12. Class prices are subject to change, however, the Studio will honour your class or series of classes until the expiration date and no longer thereafter.

13. Requests for changing classes or courses or program by students should be sent to enquiry@groove.com.sg at least 7 days in advance. An admin fee of $20 will be imposed for notice less than 7 days. For course or program or class that has already been confirmed or started, an admin fee of $20 will be imposed regardless of any reason.

 

Make Up Class

14. The Students are required to commit to the dates of the courses signed up. Those who purchased courses at promotional rates are not allowed to make up if lessons are missed. The Studio does not guarantee the availability of make up classes nor that make up request shall have the exclusive use of an apparatus.

15. You are advised to schedule your make up sessions as soon as possible during the duration of the course as make up is no longer available thereafter regardless of reasons. The Studio shall confirm the availability of the make up classes one day beforehand.

16. For 4-lesson non-choreography courses, students are allowed to make up 1 lesson, while for 6-lesson or 8-lesson courses, make up for up to 2 missed lessons is allowed. For 4-lesson choreography course or special term course, there shall be no make up arrangement. 

17. Please check our Courses schedule and select a suitable class at the same or lower level for the same apparatus class that you have missed. You can also make up with 2 hours of practice for missing 1 hour class. To attend make up class for different apparatus, this shall be limited to non-choreography class and subject to the approval of the Studio.

18. To schedule a make up session, please send an email to enquiry@groove.com.sg at least 7 days prior to the desired make up date.

19. Make up classes are non-refundable nor transferable.

20. No credit or replacement class will be issued if the make up class is missed.

21. The Studio reserves the rights to refuse any make up class arrangement without prior notice.

 

Drop-In Classes

22. Students must meet the prerequisites before enrolling for drop-in class.

23. Drop-in class purchases are non-refundable.

24. No credit will be issued for missed classes.

25. Transfers of drop-in classes are allowed with written notice and a payment of a $20 administrative fee before the start of the session.

 

Practice Sessions

26. Practice session purchases are non-refundable.

27. No credit will be issued for missed or unattended practice slots.

28. Practice fee is per student per apparatus.

29. If you are sharing an apparatus with your friends or if your friends are joining you for the practice, a booking is required per person.

30. If your friends or spouses or partners are not practicing but waiting for you, kindly inform them to wait for you outside the studio. The Studio reserves the right to deny entry to them or refuse your next booking.

31. Practice session is at 1 hour per session from the practice start time you have booked.

32. If you require more time for practice, proceed to book for another hour by emailing to enquiry@groove.com.sg. The Studio reserves the right to impose the hourly practice fee for an exceeded time of 10 min or to refuse the next booking.

33. The Studio reserves the right to cancel a practice session in advance and replace it with another slot.

34. A fee of 20% of the practice fee (based on non student pricing) will be charged for any requests to change the practice time. To make such a request, please send an email to enquiry@groove.com.sg at least 1 day in advance and the change is subject to studio space availability.

35. Transfers of practice sessions are allowed by paying 20% of the fee and emailing the replacement details to the Studio at least 1 day prior.

 

Trial Classes

36. The duration of each trial class is one hour.

37. No postponement nor refund nor credit issued for trial class once booked.

38. A trial class is transferable to another person by paying 20% of the fee and email the replacement details to the Studio at least 1 day prior.

39. The Studio reserves the right to cancel a class if the minimum enrolment is not met, in which case a refund will be made.

 

Lost or Damaged Personal Property

40. The Studio is not responsible for any lost or damaged personal property. Students are advised to take care of their personal property.

 

Safety Guidelines

41. All students must follow the safety guidelines provided by the Studio at all times during classes or courses or programs including practice sessions. Failure to do so may result in removal of students without refund.

 

Health and Injury

42. Students with pre-existing health conditions or injuries should consult their physicians before participating in classes or courses or programs. The Studio will not be held responsible for any injuries sustained during classes or courses or programs including practice sessions. There shall also be no refund nor extension of credits.

 

Conduct of Students

43. Students must diligently follow and observe all rules, guidelines of etiquette, discipline, conduct, attire and procedure set by the Studio from time to time.

44. Students are required to observe punctuality in attending classes or courses or programs. Students are encouraged to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled class time. Late-comers without valid reasons may not be permitted to join the class or course or program for the safety of the students themselves as a proper warm-up is required at commencing time.

45. The Studio reserves the right to remove any student from any program or course or class for disruptive or inappropriate behaviour without refund of any fees.

 

Indemnity

46. Every care will be taken to ensure the well-being of the students during class or course or program. However, classes or courses or programs may be physically strenuous and participation is based on an understanding and knowledge that there is risk of personal injury. The Studio shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, death, penalty, cost, expense and/or any other consequences arising from and/or in connection with any of its classes or courses or programs to the fullest extent as may be permitted under the applicable laws and regulations.

47. You agree at all times to indemnify and hold harmless the Studio , its management, members, instructors and staff against all losses, liabilities, claims, actions, proceedings, orders, penalties and costs (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis) howsoever arising in connection with these Terms.

48. You acknowledge the risks involved in dance, fitness and exercise classes or courses or programs, and agree to participate at your own risk.

 

Warranty Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

49. The Studio makes no warranties or representations about the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of our Services.

50. In no event shall the Studio or its affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of our Services.

 

Intellectual Property

51. All exercises, class sequences and materials taught in class or course or program remain the property of the Studio. They cannot be taught or performed outside the studio without the prior written consent of the Studio.

52. All content on our Services, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of the Studio or its licensors.

53. Students may not use, copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on our Services without our prior written consent.

54. Prior approval by the Studio must be obtained before any form of recording (photography or video recording) may be taken. All recording (photographs and videos) shall be for personal use only and not for any commercial use.

55. The Studio reserves the right to take video or photographs for its classes, courses or programs at its discretion for use of publicity, media or proof in view of disputes.

56. All materials provided by the Studio, including choreography, music, and instructional videos, are protected by intellectual property laws and are for personal use only. Unauthorized distribution or reproduction is strictly prohibited.

 

Links and Third Party Sites

57. Our Services may contain links to third party websites or services. The Studio is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of such third party websites or services.

 

Data Protection

58. You agree that you have read, understood and consent to the Studio collecting, using, disclosing and processing your personal data in the manner set forth in our Privacy Policy. By attending our classes, courses and/or programs you agree to our collection, use and/or disclosure of your personal data to the extent necessary to process your requests and provide you with our Services.

 

Amendments

59. The Studio reserves the right to review and/or amend any term in these Terms from time to time as it deems fit. Any review or amendments to these Terms will be posted on our website and/or in any manner as the Studio deems fit.

 

Governing Law

60. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore

61. Any legal action arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be brought in the courts located in Singapore.
