GROOVY COURSES
Partner Dances (Courses for Both Sexes):
Salsa: In a nutshell, Street Salsa is a Latin partner dance with roots in Africa, Cuba and Puerto Rico. Made famous in New York in the 50s & 60s; Street Salsa has made its way in Singapore in the last 6-7 years and has become an undying dance craze It incorporates turn patterns initiated by the ‘leader’ (a role typically adopted by the male dancer) and executed by the ‘follower’ (usually the female dancer). Danced to the pulsating 8-beat Latin rhythm, Salsa is infectious with its hip work, calculated body movements, shimmies, twirls and turns. See our Salsa performances on YouTube

Street Cha-Cha: Yet another Latin partner dance, Street Cha-cha was created in Cuba by a Cuban violinist called Enrique Jorrin in 1954. The cha-cha footwork produces a series of small gliding steps that barely touch the floor and careful weight shifting. The cha-cha includes a lot of hip motion. For more information, click

Merengue: This is a type of lively, joyful music and dance that comes from the Dominican Republic. There is a lot of hip action and rhythmic gyrating of the pelvis when one does this dance. Merengue dancing takes up very little space, and is ideally suited to small crowded dance floors. For more information, click

Bachata: Bachata’s bluesy singing -- typically accompanied by guitar base and generally punctuated on the bongo and the maracas -- has its roots in the underbelly of the Dominican Republic. The dance focuses on jaunty hip-gyrating and footwork. Danced in close proximity with a partner, Bachata is very sensual and allows a good flow of connection between leader and follower. Salsa Casino Rueda: In the 1950s Salsa Rueda (Rueda de Casino) was developed in Havana, Cuba. Pairs of dancers form a circle (Rueda in Spanish), with dance moves called out by one person. Many of the moves involve rapidly swapping partners. — so you get to dance with everyone in the circle! This course is for both sexes but students must have Salsa dance background. Stripexercise: Take them off..the clothes, the calories and the inhibitions. Groove will teach you the basic moves of the striptease and combine them with aerobic elements and dance techniques to create a fun, energizing, and sexy workout.
This course is for ladies only.
For Ladies-Only:
Exotic Dance: Whether you are a young single lady or a mom, this course will fine-tune your body language, release your inhibitions, tone up specific muscle groups, and boost your sexual confidence. Learn sensual dance patterns such as the ‘hooker walk’, ‘kitten crawl’ and the art of stripping.
Pussycat Dolls Exotic Dance Choreography: There is this all-ladies group called the Pussycat Dolls. Their hits include songs like Don’t Cha, Beep & Buttons. In this course, you will learn how to dance like them (just like what you see on TV) to the popular song Don’t Cha.
Lap Dance: In this branch of Exotic Dance, you’ll have tremendous fun in these stand-alone workshops/ courses (no dance background required) with themes like “Police and Thief”, “The Naughty Schoolgirl”, “The French Maid” and more. Working on the core moves from Exotic Dance, Lap Dance focuses on chair-work, contact moves and the use of props (hats, feather boas and more) to tease your special “lap”.
Pole Dance: Climb, spin and glide your way to the next level in the art of Exotic Dance: Poles. Get toned by learning dynamic pole tricks such as the Fireman’s Spin, or The Spinner, and a host of upside down moves. Best of all; learn it safely in the professional hands of our instructors, in the privacy of our ladies-only studios.
Pole Groove: Unlike Pole Dance courses, Pole Groove focuses more on Exotic Dance choreography against the pole as a backdrop. Relying less on Pole Tricks, this course teaches students dance routines and less acrobats. Depending on the duration of the course, you may expect to learn an entire song routine.
